Implementation of Prior Recommendations and Barriers to Enactment

Publication Date:
Abstract: As follow-up to some of its forums, the National Center for Campus Public Safety (NCCPS) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities - Law Enforcement Executives and Administrators (HBCU-LEEAs) partnered to examine whether and how HBCU campuses have implemented the recommendations in three reports. On July 16, 2019, a group of campus safety leaders gathered in Atlanta, Georgia to provide feedback about the practicality and effectiveness of the recommendations themselves and to help uncover the underlying and often persistent problems that many campus safety leaders face. This final report was developed from the forum discussions and intends to capture the participants’ successes, continued challenges, and potential strategic solutions.
