Serving Male-Identified Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence

Publication Date: 2017
Abstract: This technical assistance guidance supports advocates seeking to build capacity to recognize and respond to survivors across the gender spectrum, while honoring the gender analysis that helps us understand the root causes of violence and oppression. It offers guideposts for responding to the needs of male-identified victims of intimate partner violence through an exploration of challenges to serving males, male identity, men's experiences of intimate partner violence, outreach to males, gender inclusive service provision, building collaborations, and enhancing organizational policies. It is meant to be a resource to foster meaningful dialogue around supporting inclusive services for all victims and survivors seeking safety and healing.
